We only had the half day on our first day so we pulled up just passed Ventenac for our first night. You can hammer mooring spikes into the ground anywhere along the canal or if you find a mooring ring or post you can use those unless a sign indicates otherwise. There are plenty of options and you feel very safe no matter where you stop.
